KEITH YOUNG
Keith D. Young is a native Detroit resident who is an author, educator and artist.
Keith is a graduate of Cass Tech High School (1994), and a former Detroit Police Officer (2001-2009). After earning a "Life-Saver" Award, Keith gained a position into the Executive Protection Unit for the now infamous former Mayor of the City of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick.
After the fallout from the City scandal, Keith followed his heart and his conscious away from law enforcement and into community education. After leaving the Department he started the Creation Station CGLC with the goal of teaching Detroit city youth computer basics, computer animation, video game creation, graphic design, desktop publishing, coding, web design and more.
Under the name of "HERO" Keith offers community lectures, presentations and workshops at various venues, including schools, independent grassroots organizations, and non-profits, such as: Vanguard CDC, Detroit Future Youth, DAPCEP, BMe, Detroit Impact and Henry Ford HS to name a few.
Afro Perspectives presentational topics include; Black History, Black Women in Religion and Media, the Power of Myth, Afro-Spirituality, and Self Improvement
Keith's investigation has uncovered the existence of a lost and highly advanced, matriarchal civilization of incredible age, technological achievement and spiritual advancement, run by black women!
To document his findings, Keith is currently writing and illustrating a book titled: "Black Goddess: Legacy of the Sacred Black Feminine." The book is a historical, cultural and artistic exploration of black female spirituality in world religion and mythology.
Black Goddess Legacy is fully illustrated with dozens of Keith's artistic interpretations of the Goddess image which are made up of a combination of digital and traditional illustrations, presented in all the beautiful and vibrant hues of Black women!
In addition to the art, the book incudes a collection of ancient mythology, history, cultural anecdotes, poetry.
Of particular interest to enthusiasts of magic, metaphysics and the occult, the book contains many profound insights into the spritual arts and crafts, long lost to American "Blacks"; and includes traditons from the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, India and China!
The information contained in Black Goddess Legacy is a work of historical and spiritual restoration. Much of the knowledge recovered was lost to time, cataclysm, theft, appropriation, and whitewash – So this narrative had to be carefully reconstructed from many sources such as; history, mythology, legends, fairy tales, comparative religious studies, etymology, and psychology.
However, the heart of the Keith's message is not about color or even race. It is about educating, enlightening and empowering people to be the best version of themselves mentally, physically and spiritually.
