Janet Walmsley
Dental Asstistant, Phase 2 Hygienist , W
BC, CANADAI was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. I have live in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Germany, Yellowknife, NWT. and in Vernon and Vancouer, British Columbia.
I was a Dental Assistant/Phase II Hygienest for 27 years, then got into Marketing and was Head Marketer for a Company for 14 years.
I also late in my life, got back into acting, Theatre first and just recently swithed over to Film, TV and Voice over. It has always been a passion of mine and in April, 2015 flew to Los Angles as was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for a Comedy at the 6th Annual Indie Awards. Met some of my idol actors and was a wonderful experience and treasured memory. Was also awarded Unlimited Woman Creativity Award at the Unlimited Womans Awards. I am also a Talent Scout for MVM Agency, am an Acting Coach and teacher of the acting class, Shifting Lanes. I also have Ducks In A Row for Actors, where I help actors prepare a professional and personable presentation package for them to give to Agents.
I have recently published a book around my daughter and her life with Autism. It goes full circle from her birth to where she is now. Being told when she was 3, that she wouldn't talk very well, not do well in school, and never be in the same category as her peers, I can happily and proudly say, she broke down the barriers, trooped thorugh the war zone everyday and at at 22 she is a Professiona 2D Classical and 3D Digital Animator and has just recently published her first novel of a Trilogy, which is pre order was a Amazon and Canadian Best Seller and Barnes & Noble ordered 450 copies of her book. I remember walking out of the Doctors office when she said the above to me and said That's not going to happen. Look at her fly. My daughters second book of her Trilogy book, Dysnomia, just came out as well.
My book has been getting a great reaction as well and we are so happy that our goal in writing this book is happening. We want to reach out to others and Jenny's light to shine in showing there is a light at the end of the tunnel, a rainbow of colors in life awaits and a rich fulfilled life. Jenny is living proof and a role model for this. We want to reach out to everyone that no matter what obstacles lay in front of you, you can push through them and reach your goals.
We have just been aske to be Keynote Speakers at ANAC World of Autism Festival, happening in Vancouver in October. Look forward to meeting other families and indivduals and sharing each others stories and positive side of Autism. Been doing many speaking engagements, book signings and media interviews in all avenues. We are know as the Book Signing Queens at Indigo, Chapters and Coles Bookstores.
We have a lot going on with our books and are happy how they both are being recieved.
