Dr. Christine Grant is an Academic Resilience Strategist who partners with individuals and organizations to empower women and men in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). She obtained her degrees in Chemical Engineering (B.S., Brown University; M.S. and Ph.D., Georgia Institute of Technology). An international speaker, Grant conducts career coaching and professional development workshops across the U.S., in Ghana and Australia, empowering both women and underrepresented minorities on the STEM pathway. Her consulting company (drchristinegrant.com) designs custom, targeted programming for corporate and academic environments.

A change agent, she has been featured in National Science Foundation funded ADVANCE programming at several schools including Texas A&M, Cornell and the University of Cincinnati promoting institutional transformation in STEM fields. A recipient of the AAAS Mentor Award and the NSF Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Math and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM); Grant has been recognized for broadening the participation, promotion and retention of underrepresented minorities (URM) and women in STEM.

She's received the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Minority Affairs Committee Pioneers of Diversity Award, Council for Chemical Research Diversity Award, the American Chemical Society's SERMACS Diversity Award, and the NCA&T Urban Education Institute NCA&T Exemplar Award. A Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular (CBE) engineering at NC State; she's also the Associate Dean of Faculty Advancement in the College of Engineering. Her book, "Success Strategies from Women in STEM: A Portable Mentor" by Elsevier/Academic Press is the culmination of Grant's over 30 years of leadership broadening the participation of diverse populations in STEM fields.

She is the author of a column entitled, "STEM Resilience" for the magazine Diversity in Action http://www.diversityinaction.net/.

Her company, Leveraged Empowerment a unit of CoolSci Productions LLC empowers STEM students, faculty and professionals towards excellence in both career and personal development.

Navigating your Journey on the Academic Sea

Participants are empowered to identify the core aspects of their academic journey; who needs to be onboard with them in the mentoring, coaching, advocacy and partnership realms.  Participants develop strategic approaches to their career roadmap in academia.
