Christine Alt-Parry

NSA, Member, BA Speech Communications, N

PA, US
My goal as a training facilitator is to educate and entertain, while motivating and inspiring simultaneously. My acting background lends itself to a fun, fast paced learning environment.

Christine has been actively involved in the eloquence of elocution for over 15 years. Born to a would be speech teacher just outside of Chicago, Il, Christine grew up parroting the sounds of her parents interactions and avoiding anything that smacked of a Midwestern accent.

"My mother is my greatest teacher, especially when it comes to grammar," says Christine with a smile. "She has saved me thousands of dollars in coaching fees." Coping with a serious case of stage fright forced her to travel locally with her church drama group; presenting the ethics of Christianity in story telling form.

In 1991 Christine became involved with modeling and acting, landing a lucrative petite contract with David and Lee Modeling agency (now Ford Chicago). Clients included Alberto Culver, Miller Beer, Marie Callendar's Restaurants, Marriott Food Services, and others. She continued as a corporate presenter for Panasonic Corporation, Subaru of America, Toyota Motor Corporation, Sony Consumer Electronics, and others. Her dynamic approach to the corporate arena earned her a freelance position as a sales trainer and facilitator for General Motors. She went on to secure a full time training position with Abanco International, L.L.C. creator of the web based Food for Sale program for in flight food and duty free sales. In her one-year tenure with Abanco, Christine created training materials for and facilitated training with staff members of Abanco and over 40,000 flight attendants and 10,000 kitchen staff members on both front and back ends of the application. When the training objectives of Abanco were accomplished, she returned to work as a guest host on The Canadian Shopping Channel (Toronto) Shop at Home TV (Nashville) and QVC (West Chester, PA). She represented various electronics, including the brand, Kodak, on air.

Currently, Christine is under contract as the North East Regional Training Facilitator and Executive Coach for Nissan's NBest Program; Building Excellence through Sales Training. This includes in classroom facilitation, digital content learning, and in dealership processes including, greeting, relationship building, consultation, demonstration, delivery and vehicle presentations. Also, dealing with difficult customers and navigating through unprecedented times are areas of expertise for Christine.

Christine graduated from Northwestern University in 1994 with a B.A. in Speech Communications. She received a scholarship for the MA Speech program at Northeastern University (Chicago) in 1997. She is enrolled in Northeastern University (Boston) for an MA in eLearning and Instructional design. Christine is also completing coursework toward an ACC through the ICF, and is a member in good standing with NSA.

Christine Alt Parry is the published author of three books: Memoirs of a Shopping Channel Guest Expert (Amazon, 2020), The Daruma Doll (Rose Dog Publishing, 1993), and Finding Daddy, Finding Me (Publications International, 2010). She illustrated David Parry's book, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and Jesus (Holy Fire Publishing) in 2007.

Now that she has overcome her fear of public speaking, Christine's primary goal is the empowerment of individuals in such a way that they can overcome obstacles and make their lives a better place. "If you act confident, the world will think you are, even if you're not," says Christine. "With great self esteem the world is your oyster." She lives with her husband, David Parry, in Exton, PA.

Kodak-QVC On Air Guest Expert

I was the "Face of Kodak" for seven years on QVC TV (A Home Shopping TV Network). My job included entertaining and educating the at home and sometimes live audience in the studio. We operated under a "Features=Advantages=Benefits format, explaining a product's feature, explaining it into a benefit for the customer, and ultimately an advantage they could not live without. It was a want vs needs format psychologically based-everyone needs things at times; our job was to make people want it...
