Dorian (Dori) Mintzer, M.S.W., Ph.D.,  is an experienced therapist, consultant, group and workshop facilitator, speaker, writer and teacher as well as a life and retirement transition coach, relationship coach  and executive coach.   She received her B.A.  from the University of California, Berkeley, her   M. S. W. from the University of Pittsburgh, and her Ph.D. from Smith College.  She was a lecturer in Psychiatry at the Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School for 18 years. She currently teaches in the Gerontoogy Certificate Program at Regis College in Weston, MA.  She's a Licensed Psychologist and Independent Clinical Social Worker, and trained as a coach through Mentor Coach. She is also a Licensed Third Age Coach through the Third Age Leadership Center and a 2young2retire Certified Facilitator. She has advanced training in Family Systems Therapy, Sexuality Therapy, ADHD Coaching, Mediation, and Positive Psychology. 

Dori belongs to a variety of professional organizations including The American Psychological Association, The National Association of Social Workers, The American Society on Aging, The International Coach Federation, The Life Planning Network, The International Association on Positive Psychology, The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists, and the Boston Club for Professional and Executive Women. She is a member of the National Speakers Association and the New England Chapter.

Dori's clinical experiences began over 40 years ago. She has had a solo clinical practice since 1981 and works with men, women, and couples.   Her expertise in adult development, life planning, and positive psychology, combined with her life experiences, has led to her passion in helping individuals and couples develop their own roadmap and transition into and navigate the second half of life. She believes that clarifying values and priorities and making conscious and intentional decisions helps people create a more fulfilling life. She also facilitates groups for women and couples in life transitions.  Wanting to learn from and connect with other professionals,  she founded the Boomers and Beyond Special interest Group in May 2007, a virtual community of inter-disciplinary professionals from around the globe who meet on the telephone twice a month and explore together positive, creative and successful aging. She has also developed her business: Revolutionize Retirement. She is co-author of the book The Couples Retirement Puzzle: 10 Must-Have Conversations for Transitioning to the Second Half of Life, published in April, 2011.

Dori lives in Brookline, MA with her husband, David and her son, Louie. She has offices in Boston and Brookline where she works with individuals, couples and groups. She also works with clients by phone.
