Michael R. Van Dyke
For 25 years, Michael Van Dyke worked as a Project Manager with theatrical production and business teams. He added outdoor experiential education as another method of demonstrating for teams and individuals how to create personal and professional excellence - and found ways to bring that excitement indoors. "I love learning - my own and other people's - because through learning we, as human beings, grow and adapt to change. I get passionate about the interaction of new ideas mixing with what we already knew to create something that never existed before." In 2001, Michael was inspired by Monty Roberts, a "horse whisperer," who offers to partner with a horse, instead of breaking its spirit. The implications for improving human relationships through trusting partnerships, while rejecting violent domination, are enormous." Applying this trust-motivated approach opens new dimensions for human interactions. Imagine a world where trust is the norm, where partnership is expressed in open, honest communication. Imagine a world where diverse ideas are discussed with conviction andcompassion. Imagine this trust-filled world is your job site, your family, even your private conversations with yourself." Michael holds a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University and has taught at a variety of schools: Amherst College, Smith College, Dartmouth College, the University of Massachusetts, and Yale University. He earned his PMP (Project Management Professional) global certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). He has presented seminars and speeches to a diverse variety of businesses from health care to financial, from telecommunications to education. "In speaking or in seminars, participants often discover some pattern that keeps them from what they want to achieve. Witnessing their insight is a miraculous gift - like being present at a birth. Like birth, the realization is only a beginning. True change in behavior comes through diligently applying a new insight. Follow-through and hard work bring effective outcomes - happiness, new options, or a completed goal."
