Gillian Goddard

MD

NY, US

I empower women and girls and the people who care for them to have better interactions with their healthcare providers by educating them about their hormonal health from puberty all the way through menopause and giving them a framework that they can use to prepare for every healthcare interaction.

Gillian Goddard is a practicing endocrinologist and an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She has more than 15 years of clinical experience and consults with patients regarding thyroid disease, PCOS, menopause, nutrition and weight loss, and diabetes. She has particular expertise in endocrine diseases affecting women as they transition from one reproductive stage to the next: puberty, the reproductive years, perimenopause, and finally menopause. She is also an expert in medical weight loss and GLP-1 receptor agonists such as Ozempic and Mounjaro. Gillian is the author of Hot Flash, a weekly newsletter about women’s hormonal health and the forthcoming book The Hormone Loop. She is a contributing writer at ParentData by Emily Oster.

Gillian excels and breaking down complex medical topics for non-medical audiences. She covers a number of current topics and often speaks to groups about women's hormonal issues, particularly perimenopause, as well as GLP-1 receptor agonists and their role in obesity management and beyond. Gillian has made several media appearances talking about both endocrinology and about her journey starting a family during medical training. Her interviews can be found at TIME, Oprah Daily, NBC News and Readers Digest, and on podcasts including Landlines with Allison Williams, ParentData, Girls Night with Stephanie May Wilson, The Mom Hour, Simple Families, and Best of Both Worlds.

Gillian attended the Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunication at Arizona State University, Columbia University, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. She completed her post-doctoral training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Gillian was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona where she studied ballet, theater and vocal performance. While no longer dancing and singing, she values arts education and has served on the Board of Directors of Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance. She lives in Westchester, New York with her husband and their four children.
