After getting a MS in Computer Engineering, Raksha joined an entrepreneurial company and became an integral part of the management team that raised value of the company for an acquisition in 5 short years. Her excellent leadership skills, organization skills and communication skills are her biggest assets. She then joined the management team for software division of a Fortune 500 company. She established credibility with the management team there, thus winning trust amongst internal team members and customers alike. No matter how difficult a situation is, Raksha believes in being candid and never compromising on her values, an important trait she has had since young and continues to make it a priority in her personal and professional life.

Raksha has also taught at University of Phoenix (online and in person), leveraging her knowledge in her field of expertise and helping others learn. She is able to relate to challenges faced by professionals and help apply solutions. Whether in teaching or volunteering as a mentor, Raksha is very passionate about helping students and professionals to breakdown problems to smaller issues that then seem less intimidating.

When Raksha ran her own software consulting company, her focus was on translating big ideas customers had, to something tangible on paper. Her trick to extract what clients were expecting, was to ask many open-ended questions. Slowly, their need would take form on paper so the software could be built. Her clients appreciated her focus on quality.

Raksha’s role in executive team has been invaluable due to her ability to scrutinize situations and ask thought provoking questions. She is able to bring pragmatic judgement to the table. She has the ability to focus on teams to remove any impediments to ensure they can perform at highest efficiency. As a leader, she puts people first, mentoring and coaching them. She has led hundreds of team members in her tenure. She has left lasting effect on their careers.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Raksha is very committed to giving back to the community. She strongly believes in helping community members in need of help, and paying forward to the future generation. She has volunteered for organizations such as UCLA Student Mentoring, Youth Employment Services, Saahas for Cause, Dance 2 Your Door, UCLA Parent Council and several other organizations.
