Carin LaCount, O.D.
O.D.
TX, USI work with empathic leaders who’ve been undermined by narcissism and who’s confidence has been compromised because of it. I will help them to authentically love themselves to their full potential.
Dr. Carin M. LaCount has been an optometrist for the last 29 years. She also acquired a coaching certification from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching in 2015. She'd begun coaching, briefly, until her world imploded with infidelity, divorce, life-threatening illness and many other soul-expanding challenges about which she became inspired to write.
Her book The Love Liar: A Memoir of Narcissism, Codependency and the Pursuit of Self-Love has been out since late 2022. It's an inspirational tale of triumph over a tragic, dysfunctional childhood that resulted in codependent tendencies. Her vulnerable story depicts the low self-esteem that became a side-effect of the conditional love of her upbringing and which had atttracted her to an abusive marriage. She makes a strong case for how the auto-immune condition that nearly took her life in 2018 was a by-product of her struggles to love, care and respect herself, and is a powerful climax to her tale.
Dr. LaCount has always been passionate about helping people. She writes regularly for Medium.com and now that her book is out she is seeking podcasts and speaking engagements to tell her story and introduce her program, The Love Liar Companion. Creating her program has become a natural step toward helping those who are equally committed to making a difference in the world through helping others. It is designed for those who resonnate with her story and who struggle as she had to overcome abuse, codependency, ill-health and whose entreprenurial genuis is suffering because of it.
The whole reason we are here on this planet is to experience relationships in order to grow and evolve our spirits. The more we are challeneged with this, the more potential we have to expand and the more we can help others do the same. This is what drives Dr. LaCount to do what she does: to inspire others to overcome adversity so as to create a positive collateral effect throughout humanity.
Newly transplanted from Wisconsin, Dr. LaCount lives in Buda, Texas, just outstide Austin with her two adult children and their cats. She spends her free time dancing, either in front of a live band, in her kitchen or on her pole, and reading while she continues to hone the life-long, forever expanding, pursuit of self-love.
