He currently serves on the Texas Tech University College of Media and Communication National Professional Advisory Board and has served as Chairman of the Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board of Directors.
He served President George W. Bush and the White House as a lead advance representative from 2001-2009.
Morris was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the Texas Tech University College of Media and Communication, where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Journalism.He has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of both his High School In Abernathy, Texas and of Leadership Lubbock. Cox Communications named him 2005 Public Affairs Professional of the Year.
