Tracy has over 30 years' experience in the occupational safety & health field. Tracy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and maintains several certifications, including being a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT), Safety and Management Systems Auditor (CPEA), and Certified Safety Executive (WSO-CSE).

In 2003, Tracy was named Safety Professional of the Year by the American Society of Safety Engineers Hawaii Chapter and received a Letter of Commendation from Governor Lingle for being named one of the Pacific Business News Top 40 Under Forty business professionals in the State of Hawaii. In 2010, Tracy was recognized as the Honor Alumni of the Honolulu Community College Occupational Environmental Safety and Health Program. In 2015, Tracy was a finalist for the PBN Women Who Mean Business Award and recipient of the PBN Small Business Leadership Hawaii Award. Tracy is a 2018 graduate of the Honolulu Small Business Administration Emerging Leaders Program and 2019 Small Business Administration Person of the Year for the County of Honolulu and BBB Torch Award for Ethics winner- Honolulu Tier 2. In 2020, Tracy was named the Pacific Edge Magazine Business Woman of the Year for Hawaii.

Tracy's safety experience ranges from being a U.S. Army Military Police Corps Traffic Accident Investigator, a construction small business Safety Director, a Vice President of a national general contractor, and a business owner. During her tenure at Dick Pacific Construction, her safety program led the company to be recognized as one of America's 17 Safest Companies in the October 2002 Occupational Hazards Magazine, recipient of the 2001 Associated General Contractors of America National Construction Safety Excellence Grand Award and First Place in Building for 500,000 + man-hours and the 2000 U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Worldwide Contractor of the Year.

from 2005 - 2019, Tracy was a staff instructor for the OSHA Training Institute Hawaii Extension through the University of California San Diego where she was authorized to teach a variety of construction and general industry courses.

In 2009, Tracy opened Lawson & Associates, a certified woman, veteran-owned, State of Hawaii DOT small business enterprise specializing in safety and health support services. Lawson & Associates is the largest occupational safety and health consulting firm in the State of Hawaii with an average of 15 full-time, experienced, certified, and degreed local safety management professionals who specialize in assisting small, medium, and large businesses achieve efficiency in operations through a well-managed safety and risk program. Since 2010, Tracy and her firm have been serving as the Safety and Security Support Services Contractor to the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) on the $9 billion-dollar Honolulu Rapid Transit project.
