HumanScience™ can solve your leadership, sales, culture change or risk & compliance problems. I'm an award-winning scientist, let me show you how.

Hi, I'm Dr Bob

I'm in the business of getting people to think differently, to change their habitual patterns, to put information and ideas together in new and innovative ways.

I can do this because of my wide experience in a number of industries and my science and psychology background. I understand how human beings were designed to behave—I know our design specs.

People tell me that I am a very engaging and entertaining speaker—maybe this is because I began my career by supporting myself as an actor. My talks and workshops are full of surprises and challenges. I get people to question their assumptions and get them to practice tips and tools that they can immediately use in their work and lives generally.

"In challenging and engaging the audience on how to build optimistic teams and firms, Dr Bob had an energetic and inimitable, captivating style. Supported by deep research knowledge in management, psychology and neurobiology, the highly rated content was powerful, had clarity, and extremely relevant for businesses in today's disruptive market."

This is me
I have written or co-written eleven books, including two NY Times best-sellers. Mostly these have been on psychology, leadership and change. My most recent book is "Leading the Future: The Human Science of Law Firm Leadership and Strategy."

(HumanScience™ is the confluence of a number of sciences such as behavioral genetics, management theory, neuroscience, psychology, anthropology and biological psychiatry).

I am an internationally recognized thought leader in a variety of fields relevant to almost every business.

I am known for being able to take the latest findings in a wide variety of sciences and make them relevant, practical and easy to understand.

For the last 29 years I have been consulting to Global 500 corporations and some of the world's largest professional service firms on issues to do with change, leadership, team development, sales and marketing.

Before becoming a consultant I held leading positions in the media, banking, real estate development, and manufacturing.

I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from NYU, post-graduate qualifications in behavioral neurogenetics and an MBA from Sydney University. I have lectured at Sydney, Duke, JFK and Tufts Universities and the universities of South Florida and California State. I am a prize-winning scientist, writer and TV producer

I have appeared many times as an expert on radio and TV news, talk shows and documentaries. I am regularly quoted in such publications as the NY Times, Chicago Tribune, The Australian, the Sydney Morning Herald and Entrepreneur. My articles are published regularly in specialist publications such as:

Lawyer's Weekly
Solicitor's Journal
Effective Executive
GRC Professional (Governance Risk and Compliance)

"...your insights in relation to the way that humans approach their purchasing decisions were of great interest to our partners and have generated a good deal of follow up discussion. We have each taken away some practical tips in the way we engage with our clients. Your model of the modern lawyer as a trusted confident and member of the tribe is one of which we will keep very front of mind going forward."

______________

"It was a fantastic presentation, where there was humour, practical tips and science behind the WHY. I walked away feeling very optimistic about being able to effect change in my organization in a positive way."

______________

"Your program was the best I have experienced because of its content and you both."

______________

"Your session was & is one of the most useful & informative sessions I have attended in many years. As a member of the 'old' brigade it is nice to be challenged to rethink my prejudices/biases before I become set under stone. Thanks for the insights. And sharing with us your sense of humour."

"The amount of energy, participation, interaction and discussion during your sessions was greater than I had hoped for, and the feedback from the speakers/presenters has validated that."

What are you Really Selling? The science of getting and retaining clients

Traditional professional service firms are in danger of being made irrelevant by the encroaching power of AI, alternative service providers, Google etc.  As a behavioral scientist I believe this is because most practitioners are trying to sell something that no one buys.  But there's a brilliant opportunity out there for those firms and individual providers who realize this and re-craft their practices to go to market with something that everyone buys.

My fields of science...
