Unconscious Bias Training: I think we can agree that 2020 was a difficult year for us all professionally, personally, and socially as a country. Left in the aftermath of civil unrest that hit another pinnacle last year, our organization felt compelled to address it for the sake of our clients, our staff, and our own hearts. Internally, we created a committee that brought our employees together to discuss and educate ourselves on how systematic racism plays a part in our lives and how we can do better. That being said, it was a new venture, and like many companies, we had questions and concerns about the best way to proceed in the most impactful and appropriate way. We took the opportunity at an all-staff meeting to find a speaker and bring in a professional to continue the conversation and give us better insight into this important line of work—and that is when we found Dr. Lisa D.
