FL, USDr. Tommy Shavers is a speaker, author, minister, and consultant. He is the president of Tommy Speak LLC. – a speaking and organizational consulting company and the Lead Consultant and Co-Founder of Atlas Group Advisors. He is the co-founder of Unus Solutions Inc., a collaborative faith based non-profit. He is a member of the NeuroLeadership Institute, and a contributing author to Linked2Leadership, one of the nation's top leadership blogs. He is a board member of the Sports Conflict Institute, and the Institute for Personal Player Development. A former college professor; Dr. Shavers holds a B.A. in Organizational Communication, M.A. in Interpersonal Communication, M.A. in Biblical Studies, and a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership.
Dr. Shavers is the author of The Next CEO: A Leadership Parable, None of the Above: Powers and Pitfalls of Worship, and Life in the Trenches: The Joys and Challenges of Christians in Sports. He is the creator of the Power Tolerance Theory™, P Factor ™ Program, and the Hi-R Cognitive Performance Model™. Dr. Shavers has been a radio and TV guest expert, as well as a conference keynote and presenter on sports culture, behavior, and teamwork. He consults with college and professional sports organizations on behavior and performance and has published works in the areas of status, power, and athlete behavior. Dr. Shavers is a featured expert in a sports documentary: The Culture of Sports" – featured on ESPN & PBS – coming Spring/Summer 2016 narrated by James Earl Jones. He is collaborating with some of the world's leading experts in the areas of cognition, neuroplasticity, sports, and behavior to address the issues of cognitive and behavioral health for athletes.
Dr. Shavers attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, where he served as the football defensive team captain for the UCF Knights football team under head coach and former NFL Super Bowl Champion Mike Kruczeck, and defensive coordinator and 2 Time College National Champion coach Gene Chizik. After his playing career, he served as an intern in athletic compliance at UCF and would later work in student services and in athletics as Life Skills Coordinator. He is a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certified Coach, a previous member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and a member Delta Mu Delta National Business Honor Society. Dr. Shavers has a passion for leadership, personal development, and human behavior and loves to see people sustain personal integrity in their lives while pursuing their goals.
