Mr. Gambrell attended Columbia University in the city of New York where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science. As a high school student he excelled in both baseball and academics receiving four-year scholarships from the New York Yankee Foundation, for being the top student-athlete in the Bronx in 1983, and the Local 1199 Joseph Tauber Scholarship for excellence in Academics.

Additionally, Mr. Gambrell has supported several charitable organizations as a volunteer including, The March of Dimes, the Catholic Youth Organization – Harlem Archdiocese, The New York Urban League, and New York Cares. He has functioned as an event planner, college planning & selection counselor, education committee member, and grade school tutor for these organizations. 

He is a member of; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Abyssinian Baptist Church located in Harlem, New York, American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and a Life Time Member of the NAACP.

A native of the Bronx, New York, Mr. Gambrell now resides in Harlem, New York.
